Signs Are Improving

There has been some positive economic news including an uptick in employment, rising interest in new housing, and anecdotal reports from builders that they are seeing renewed interest right here in Lake and Sumter counties. Real estate markets across the country are reporting that the price of housing is no longer on the downward slide and many are showing increases.

Analysts have admitted that our national economy cannot recover without a housing recovery, so more focus is being paid to spurring a recovery in housing.

Our job is to keep the importance of the industry in front of legislators and executives at all levels of government. Your national, state and local HBA are doing just that. Successes we have achieved thus far have been helpful. We must continue the pressure so that a full economic recovery can take shape for our country as well as the industry.

Here at the HBA we are optimistically embracing signs of improvement. We are looking forward to our 2012 Parade of HomesÔ on April 14 -15 and 21-22, our first parade since 2009. Let’s support our builders and remodelers by spreading the word about the upcoming parade. After all, there has never been a better time to buy!
